PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a production method of magnetic powder for producing a rear earth magnet excellent in magnetic characteristics easily.
SOLUTION : A production method of magnetic powder 1, 100 includes a nitriding step for producing powder of rear earth-iron-nitrogen-based alloy, having a nanocomposite organization where an α-Fe phase 12 is dispersed into a main phase containing a rear earth-iron-nitrogen-based compound, by nitriding the powder of rear earth-iron-nitrogen-based alloy containing a rear-earth element and Fe at a temperature of nitriding temperature or more, while applying a magnetic field to an atmosphere containing nitrogen.
