PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a mold for a magnet, by which a magnetic member with a high coercive force can be obtained.
SOLUTION : A mold for a magnet is arranged by compacting rare earth-iron based alloy powder having particles of a rare earth-iron based alloy including a rare earth element and iron. In the mold for a magnet, 5-20 vol.% of cavities are formed; the rare earth-iron based alloy satisfies the following requirements (a) to (c) : (a) the rare earth-iron based alloy includes 10-30 mass% of Sm, 10 mass% or less of Mn with the balance consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities; (b) it has a composition given by Sm2MnxFe17-x (where x=0.1-2.5); and (c)the average crystal grain diameter is 700 nm or less.
