The present invention relates to a coating agent composition for treating the surface of a magnetic material and a surface treating method using the same. The coating agent composition comprises an epoxy resin, a zinc-aluminum composite metal powder, and a solvent. The zinc-aluminum composite metal powder, on the basis of 100 parts by weight of the composition, comprises 15 to 25 parts by weight of zinc and 5 to 15 parts by weight of aluminum. The epoxy resin and the zinc-aluminum composite metal powder are included at a weight ratio of 1 : 1 to 1 : 2. Environmental contamination caused by a waste liquid which is a byproduct of a conventional plating process is prevented, so environmentally-friendly properties are ensured.
