PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metallic magnetic powder in which independence of particles can be enhanced by suppressing the aggregation of particles even if the particle size is reduced, and dispersibility can be improved when it is used in a magnetic paint while increasing the bulk density, and to provide a production method therefor.SOLUTION : The metallic magnetic powder is produced by adding a dispersant composed of a compound having a carboxyl group to a slurry of iron oxyhydroxide (α-FeOOH) thereby wet-pulverizing the slurry of iron oxyhydroxide, and then coating the surface of particles of iron oxyhydroxide thus obtained with a sintering prevention component containing one kind or more selected from rare earth elements (including yttrium) and reducing the iron oxyhydroxide. |
