简介 A decrease in the light output of a scintillator is prevented. The scintillator is provided with a sintered body of 1 mm3 or less that contains an oxysulfide of a rare earth element. In a compositional image obtained by observing a cross-section of the sintered body under a scanning electron microscope, the sum of the number of oxide regions, which contain an oxide of a rare earth element other than the oxysulfide of the rare earth element and/or an impurity metal oxide, and the number of sulfide regions, which contain sulfide of a rare earth element other than the oxysulfide of the rare earth element and/or an impurity metal sulfide, existing in a unit area of 500 μm × 500 μm is 0-5 inclusive. Each of the oxide regions and the sulfide regions has a major axis of 0-100 μm inclusive.
