The invention relates to the use of a composition for a packing means (33), in particular for a packing means (33) of a pharmaceutical product. The composition comprises a luminescent coordination compound of the general formula (MxLy)n with at least one coordination center (M) and a number of ligands (L) which are coordinated at the coordination center(s) (M) in order to detect the hydrolysis status of the product, and the coordination center (M) or each coordination center is selected from a group containing alkaline earth metals, rare earth metals, and metals of the 13th group and 15th group of the periodic system. The invention further relates to a packing means (33) which uses a corresponding composition. By selecting and/or combining the coordination compounds contained in the composition in a controlled manner, both the quality as well as the safety of sensitive products stored in a packing means (33) can be controlled in a simple manner and an improved UV protection of light-sensitive contents of a packing means can be achieved on the basis of the luminescent properties of the coordination compounds. |
