PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for recovering rare earth element and a rare earth element recovery device improving the quality of the rare earth element to be recovered while simplifying a working operation.
SOLUTION : Provided is a method for recovering rare earth elements comprising : a first elution step 1-B of eluting iron and rare earth elements to an amide-based acid medium; a second elution step 1-E of selectively leaching the rare earth elements comprised in oxidized magnetic powder residue with mineral acid; a rare earth hydroxide production step 1-F of bringing the rare earth elements eluted in mineral acid into hydroxylation reaction with metal hydroxide; a rare earth hydroxide addition step 1-G of adding the produced rare earth hydroxide to the amide-based acid medium; a step 1-C of separating the produced iron (III) hydroxide from the amide-based acid medium; a step 1-D of producing an amide-based rare earth metal salt by concentrating the amide-based acid medium; and a step 1-H of electrolytically precipitating rare earth elements from the melt of the amide-based rare earth metal salt or a liquid phase obtained by dissolving the amide-based rare earth metal salt into an ion liquid.
