PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which the performance of large-current discharge under a low-temperature environment is enhanced.
SOLUTION : A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises : a positive electrode 1 including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode 2; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the positive electrode active material includes a lithium-containing transition metal oxide; a rare earth compound is deposited on the surface of the lithium-containing transition metal oxide. The nonaqueous electrolyte includes a lithium tetrafluoroborate.
