PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy which achieves both high capacity of cells and improvement of cycle life characteristics.SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy is a rare earth-Mg-Ni-based hydrogen storage alloy, has crystal structure of CeNitype, and also has a composition represented by the following general formula (I) RESmMgNi, wherein RE represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Sc, and Y; and subscripts x, y, and a each represents a number satisfying 0.74≤x≤0.97, 0.03≤y≤0.07, and 3.3≤a≤3.6. |
