The present invention provides a method for collecting a valuable metal, which enables a medium- to high-concentration cyan waste fluid to be treated at low cost and in a simple manner, and also enables a so-called valuable metal, e.g., a noble metal, a rare earth element and another metal, remaining in the waste fluid to be collected satisfactorily without causing the corrosion of a furnace. The present invention relates to a method for collecting a valuable metal, which comprises : burning a concentrate (101) of a waste fluid (100) containing a cyan compound, an inorganic carbonate salt and the valuable metal at 400 to 650°C; then separating the cyan in the form of a cyan gas (103) from the concentrate of the waste fluid (100); and then collecting the valuable metal from a burning residue (102). |
