The present invention relates to a method for recovering rare-earth metals by biologically decomposing monazite using phosphate solubilizing bacteria. To achieve the purpose, the present invention provides a method for extracting rare-earth metals from monazite using microorganisms, comprising the steps of : (a) preparing a medium; (b) inputting monazite into the medium; (c) inputting microorganisms into the medium in step (b); (d) culturing the microorganisms in step (c); and (e) leaching rare-earth metals from the monazite using the microorganisms cultured in step (d).
