PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To reduce the use amount of heavy rare earth elements without making a manufacturing process complicated in a rotary electric machine.
SOLUTION : In a rotor (10), a slot (12) for a magnet having the magnet (13) arranged thereon is formed so that a width from a magnetic pole face of the magnet (13) to an outer periphery monotonously increases toward a magnetic barrier (FB) from a magnetic pole center line (L1). Heavy rare earth elements are grain boundary diffused on one magnetic pole face of the magnet (13), and the magnet (13) is arranged on the slot (12) for the magnet so that the face having the heavy rare earth elements diffused thereon is directed to an outer peripheral side of the rotor (10).
