This permanent magnet comprises : a composition indicated by composition formula R (FepMqCurCtCo1-p-q-r-t)z (R indicates at least one element selected from rare earth elements, M indicates at least one element selected from Ti, Zr, and Hf, 0.27 ≤ p ≤ 0.45, 0.01 ≤ q ≤ 0.05, 0.01 ≤ r ≤ 0.1, 0.002 ≤ t ≤ 0.03, and 6 ≤ z ≤ 9); and a metal composition comprising a main phase including a Th2Zn17 crystal phase and an M element auxiliary phase having an M-element concentration of at least 30 at%. The M element auxiliary phase is deposited in the metal structure. The ratio of the perimeter length to the deposition area for the M element auxiliary phase is 1-10. |
