A method for reducing rare earth element is disclosed. The method for reducing rare earth element of the present invention includes : a step of inserting rare earth chloride, LiCl, and KCl into an electrolytic bath; a step of reducing a rear earth element through an electric energy; and a step of inserting the reduce rare earth element in a crucible and vacuum refining the rare earth element. In the step of inserting rare earth chloride, LiCl, and KCl into an electrolytic bath, the mass of rare earth chloride may be 10-30% of the mass of the LiCl and the KCl. |
