PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an illumination system comprising an electroluminescent semiconductor device as a radiation source and a fluorescent material comprising a phosphor for generation of specific white light or colored light including yellow, amber and red light.
SOLUTION : An illumination system comprises a chip type light emitting diode 1 and a fluorescent material 4, 5 comprising at least one phosphor capable of absorbing a part of light emitted by the chip type light emitting diode and emitting light of wavelength different from that of the absorbed light.
