PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a thin-film solar battery having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency, and especially having a high open-circuit voltage, and to provide a method of manufacturing the thin-film solar battery.
SOLUTION : A thin-film solar battery has : a cathode; an anode; a photoelectric conversion layer arranged between the cathode and the anode; and an electron transport layer arranged between the cathode and the photoelectric conversion layer. The photoelectric conversion layer has a portion containing an organic semiconductor, and a portion containing sulphide and/or selenide of a group-15 element in the periodic table. Between the photoelectric conversion layer and the electron transport layer, a layer containing a rare earth element and/or a group-2 element in the periodic table is arranged.
