简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce an R-T-B based sintered magnet stably without varying the diffusion quantity even if the conditions of RH diffusion to the R-T-B based sintered magnet change.SOLUTION : The method of producing a sintered magnet comprises : a step of preparing an R-T-B based sintered magnet body; a step of preparing an RF diffusion source where a base material composed of a ceramic of zirconia, alumina, yttria, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, boron nitride or a mixture of them, or any one kind of metal selected from Mo, Nb, W, Ta or any one alloy thereof is coated with a metal containing a heavy rare earth element RH(either Dy and/or Tb) or an alloy; a step of charging and placing the R-T-B based sintered magnet body and the RF diffusion source in the processing chamber; and an RH diffusion step of heating the R-T-B based sintered magnet body and the RF diffusion source at 700-1000°C.
