PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having excellent adhesive property between a magnet body and a protective layer, and excellent corrosion resistance to hydrogen.SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet 100 comprises a magnet body 10 including a rare earth element, and a protective layer 20 coating the magnet body 10. The protective layer 20 has a first layer 22 formed on a surface of the magnetic body 10, and a second layer 24 positioned on the opposite side of the magnet body 10 interposing the first layer 22. A surface region 2 of the magnet body 10 contains one kind or more of elements EA such as Si, and N, and the first layer 22 contains one kind or more of metals such as Ni or an alloy including the metals. The second layer 24 contains nitride, and the nitride contains one kind or more of elements E2 such as Si and Ti. |
