PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rubber composition for a sidewall in which low fuel consumption nature and flex crack-proof nature can be improved with sufficient balance at high dimension, and which can also assure control stability and fracture strength; and to provide a pneumatic tire which uses the composition for the sidewall of the tire.SOLUTION : The rubber composition for a sidewall includes : a rubber component which contains a compound modified butadiene rubber expressed by formula (1), silica, sulfur, and a compound expressed by formula (2) : R-S-S-A-S-S-R. In formula (1), R, Rand Rdenote a branching or not branching alkyl group, a branching or not branching alkoxy group, a branching or not branching silyloxy group, a branching or not branching acetal group, a carboxyl group, a mercapto group or derivatives thereof, Rand Rdenote a hydrogen atom or a branching or not branching alkyl group, and n denotes an integer. In formula (2), A denotes a branching or not branching 2-10C alkylene group, and Rand Rare the same or different and denote a monovalent organic group containing a nitrogen atom. |
