PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rubber composition for treads, with which excellent wear resistance, wet skid performance, low fuel consumption properties and driving stability can be obtained and further heat aging resistance is improved, and which can suppress deterioration of the wear resistance and wet skid performance due to use of the tire, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition for treads as the tread thereof.SOLUTION : The rubber composition for treads contains a rubber component, an aromatic vinyl polymer, sulfur and a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein A is a 2-10C alkylene group; Rand Rare the same or different from each other and are each a monovalent organic group containing a nitrogen atom). The aromatic vinyl polymer is a resin obtained by polymerizing α-methylstyrene and/or styrene and the content of the aromatic vinyl polymer is 5-100 parts mass based on 100 parts mass of the rubber component. |
