PURPOSE : A method for forming rare earth metal hydride and a method for forming rare earth metal-transition metal alloy powder using the same are provided to prevent gains from coarsening by implementing reaction in a solid phase and to easily separate rare earth metal hydride into rear earth metal and hydrogen in a vacuum during secondary heat treatment. CONSTITUTION : A method for forming rare earth metal hydride comprises a primary heat treatment step for heat-treating rare earth metal oxide and alkaline earth metal hydride at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the alkaline earth metal hydride in an inert gas atmosphere in order to reduce the rare earth metal oxide into the rare earth metal hydride and a secondary heat treatment step for heat-treating rare earth metal hydride and transition metal or transition metal oxide in a vacuum atmosphere to form rare earth metal-transition metal alloy(S40). |
