PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cutting work method by a cutting grinding wheel capable of imparting an accurate edge shape in a cutting surface of a rare earth magnet. SOLUTION : The method is provided for cutting in a small piece by grinding by relatively moving along a rotary surface of the disc-like cutting grinding wheel for rotating a rare earth magnet bulk material fixed on a stage. At least an under surface of the rare earth magnet bulk material is covered with a dummy material, and is arranged on the stage, and this uppermost surface is pressed down and fixed, and the cutting surface by the grinding is imparted while restricting a surface of the rare earth magnet bulk material by the dummy material.
