The present invention relates to a method of recovering europium from a rare earth compound, including the steps of leaching the rare earth compound to obtain a leached liquid; reducing europium from the rare earth compound liquid using metal powder under an acid condition and non-oxidizing atmosphere; precipitating the europium using an acid to convert to a carbonate for leaching; repeating the reducing step and the precipitating step once, twice, or three times; and precipitating the leached material and burning to obtain Eu oxide. |
