Preparing composites comprising aluminum oxide and cerium or zirconium mixed oxides, comprises (a) providing a suspension comprising boehmite as aluminum oxide precursor and adjusting the pH to 6-11.5, (b) preparing an aqueous metal salt solution comprising cerium and zirconium metal salts, (c) contacting the suspension of (a) with the metal salt solution of (b) at 5-95[deg] C, or exposing the obtained slurry to this temperature, (d) separating the aqueous solution and washing the solid obtained in step (c) with water, (e) drying the obtained solid, and (f) calcining the obtained solid. |
