PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet capable of effectively suppressing generation of rust, a rotor employing the rare-earth magnet, and a manufacturing method of the rare-earth magnet.SOLUTION : In a permanent magnet 11 (a rare-earth bond magnet), since a rust preventive coating 14 is formed on an outer surface (an outer peripheral surface 115 and end faces 116 and 117) of a compact 11a, generation of rust on the outer surface (the outer peripheral surface 115 and the end faces 116 and 117) of the compact 11a can be suppressed. Magnetic powder can be prevented by the coating 14 from being dropped from the outer surface of the compact 11a. In a hole within the compact 11a, a rust preventive processing layer is formed on a surface of the magnetic powder. In the compact 11a, a number of holes are formed and the coating 14 may not be formed within such a hole but, even in such a case, in the hole, the rust preventive processing layer is formed on the surface of magnetic powder, thereby suppressing generation of rust within the hole. |
