The present invention provides : a debris processing composition for use in separating earth and/or sand from debris to which the earth and/or sand have stuck; and a debris processing method. This debris processing composition contains 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of a polymer flocculant relative to 100 parts by mass of gypsum, wherein : the BSA specific surface area of the gypsum is 15000cm2/g or less; and the polymer flocculant takes the form of a powder that comprises at least 95% of particles having diameters of 200μm or less. This debris processing method comprises : a processing step for adding 10 to 100kg of gypsum and 0.01 to 10kg of a polymer flocculant to 1 m3 of debris to which earth and/or sand have stuck, and kneading the obtained mixture; and a separation step for separating the kneaded mixture into the debris and the earth and/or sand. The present invention makes it possible to separate earth and/or sand from debris to which the earth and/or sand have stuck, easily, simply and efficiently without exerting a bad influence on the environment, such separation being a prerequisite for the disposal of an enormous amount of debris produced through the mingling of the objects destroyed and torn by strong force of tsunami or the like with the earth and/or sand carried by tsunami or the like. |
