The present invention provides an optical amplifier using an optical fiber, the optical amplifier comprising : a single-mode optical fiber to which a plurality of rare earth elements have been added simultaneously; first and second optical fiber lattices provided on both ends of the optical fiber to totally reflect light of a predetermined wavelength band excited at the optical fiber; a pumping light source for generating pumping light that excites rare earth ions inside the optical fiber; and an optical coupler connected to the optical fiber to transmit an optical signal, which has been generated by the light source, and pumping light, which has been output from the pumping light source, to the optical fiber, thereby enabling efficient amplification of optical signals through a simple configuration using an optical fiber to which a plurality of rare earth elements have been added. |
