PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing inorganic crystals by using a rare earth element such as Ce and Eu as a dopant element, where the rare earth element can be added in a low valence state.
SOLUTION : Provided is a method for producing inorganic crystals comprising a dopant element and a metal element other than the dopant. As the dopant element, there is used at least one rare earth element selected from Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Tm and Yb. As at least a portion of a source of the metal element, there is used elementary metal.
