PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide means capable of improving yield of ethylene oxide by reducing an amount of by-produced ethylene glycol in a production process of ethylene oxide.SOLUTION : The production method of ethylene oxide includes steps of : supplying a reaction product gas that contains ethylene oxide produced in an ethylene oxidation reaction step for subjecting ethylene to catalytic gas phase oxidation with a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a silver catalyst to an ethylene oxide absorption tower; bringing the reaction product gas into contact with an absorption liquid supplied to the ethylene oxide absorption tower; supplying a bottom liquid of the ethylene oxide absorption tower containing ethylene oxide to an ethylene oxide purification system; and supplying an ethylene oxide-containing uncondensed gas discharged from the ethylene oxide purification system to an ethylene oxide reabsorption tower. In the production method, an operation pressure of the ethylene oxide reabsorption tower is set to 3 to 50 kPa gauge.COPYRIGHT : (C)2015, JPO&INPIT |
