PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a steam reforming catalyst using nickel which can be used for not only city gas and LPG but also kerosene.SOLUTION : The steam reforming catalyst includes a carrier containing α-alumina and carrying a rare earth element oxide and an alkaline earth element oxide, and nickel and a platinum group metal carried by the carrier. The amount of the carried rare earth element oxide is 2-20 mass% in outer percentage based on the mass of the α-alumina. The amount of the carried alkaline earth element oxide is 0.1-10 mass% in outer percentage based on the mass of the α-alumina. The amount of the carried nickel is 1-30 mass% in outer percentage based on the mass of the α-alumina. |
