PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-T-B type rare earth magnet powder which increases the coercive force of a magnetic powder by promoting formation of an R-rich grain boundary phase continued to a magnetic phase crystal grain boundary and also has high residual magnetic flux density.
SOLUTION : An R-T-B type rare earth magnet powder can promote formation of an R-rich grain boundary phase by heat-treating an R-T-B type rare earth magnet powder containing Al and obtained by an HDDR treatment in a vacuum or an Ar atmosphere at 670-820°C for 30-300 min, shows high coercive force even when the Al amount is reduced and has high residual magnetic flux density.
