PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a salt water treatment method suitable for implementation by using a simple apparatus.
SOLUTION : An oxygen-containing gas 31 is introduced into salt water 30, whereas an oxygen plasma is generated from the introduced gas 31, whereas the generated oxygen plasma is discharged into the salt water 30. It is permissible for the gas 31 to be a gaseous mixture of a rare gas and an oxygen gas and for the oxygen plasma to have been generated via a dielectric barrier discharge. Moreover, it is also permissible to introduce the gas 31 into a hole-drilled pipe 14 positioned within the salt water 30, to trigger the dielectric barrier discharge in-between a first electrode 15 positioned within the hole-drilled pipe 14 and coated with an insulator and a second electrode 16 positioned within the salt water 30 outside the hole-drilled pipe 14 and coated with an insulator, to generate the oxygen plasma within the hole-drilled pipe 14, and to discharge the oxygen plasma into the salt water 30 through the hole-drilled pipe 14.
