The invention relates to the use, in a cosmetic composition or for the production of a cosmetic composition, of an extract of an exudate of the plant Daniellia oliveri, said exudate being at least partially made up of the oleoresin of said plant. It relates most particularly to the use of this extract as a cosmetic agent for modifying the surface of the skin by giving it a smoother appearance through a reduction in the depth of the wrinkles and/or fine lines and/or by providing it with a re-plumping effect.
