Provided is a positive electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, which is not decreased in the discharge capacity during low-temperature discharging even in cases where charging and discharging are carried out after being left at high temperatures in a charged state, and the like. This positive electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries contains a positive electrode active material which is formed of a mixture of lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide and lithium cobaltate, to a part of the surface of which a compound containing fluorine and at least one element selected from among zirconium, magnesium, titanium, aluminum and rare earth elements adheres. The ratio of the lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide relative to the total mass of the positive electrode active material is 1% by mass or more but less than 70% by mass. |
