PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet which can express a large coercive force with good repeatability using a Sm-Co magnet whose main phase is a composition region with high Fe concentration.
SOLUTION : A permanent magnet has a composition represented by the composition formula : RpFeqMrCusCo100-p-q-r-s (R is at least one element selected from rare earth elements; M is at least one element selected from Zr, Ti, and Hf; 10≤p≤13.5, 28≤q≤40, 0.88≤r≤7.2, 4≤s≤13.5 (atom%)). A composition region having an Fe concentration of 28 mol% or more is a main phase of the permanent magnet. The Cu concentration in the main phase is 5 mol% or more.
