PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a technology capable of easily increasing a dispersion region of dysprosium or terbium to a rare earth magnet body containing neodymium.
SOLUTION : At least one communication hole 20 is formed in a magnet body 10 containing neodymium and at least one of dysprosium and terbium is dispersed from an outer peripheral surface of the magnet body 10 and an inner peripheral surface of the communication hole 20. The magnet body 10 is cut along a cutting line 30 crossing an extending direction of the communication hole 20, thereby obtaining a permanent magnet 170 in a desired shape. The communication hole 20 is formed at a position where a region formed by a line drawn in a distance of 1.5 mm from an outer peripheral surface of the permanent magnet 170 to the inside of the permanent magnet 170 in a cross-sectional view crossing the extending direction of the communication hole 20 is covered with a region within a range of 1.5 mm from the inner peripheral surface of the communication hole 20 to the outer peripheral surface side of the permanent magnet 170.
