PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To cut a foliage portion at an appropriate position without causing a mulch film to be lifted up from a field surface during extracting of crops, causing a cutting blade of a foliage cutting machine to be damaged due to soil taken therein and causing the cutting blade to splash soil to a worker, so that harvesting of the crops and removing of the mulch film in subsequent work can be efficiently performed.
SOLUTION : Provided is a root crop extracting machine in which, while lift-up devices 41 and 63 are lifting up foliage portions lodged on a ridge, an extracting/conveying device 20 holds and conveys back upward the foliage portions to extract root portions, and a foliage cutting device 54 provided in a lower part of the extracting/conveying device 20 cuts the foliage portions to leave the root portions in a field. The foliage cutting device 54 is provided with a grounding body 50 to maintain the ground height of the foliage cutting device 54 at a certain level or higher, the device 54 being floating-supported by a support frame 42 so as to being lifted and lowered with respect to a main frame 1.
