PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a containment method of polluted floating mud capable of assuredly containing polluted floating mud including pollutants and deposited on a water bottom surface layer bed, and an underwater installation apparatus used for the same.
SOLUTION : A bank-building solidified soil material including a solidifying agent is installed on a water bottom bed A on which polluted floating mud C including pollutants is deposited, whereas multiple diffusion-preventive banks 1, 1, ... are built in an arrangement surrounding the polluted floating mud C so as to form multiple mud storage blocks 2, 2, ... surrounded respectively by the diffusion-preventive banks 1, 1, ...; after the polluted floating mud C has been imported into the respective mud storage blocks 2, 2, ..., a solidified soil material for containment including a solidifying agent is installed on the respective mud storage blocks 2, 2, ... so as to contain upper surface portions of the respective mud storage blocks 2, 2, ... with a containing lid layer bed 3 consisting of the solidified soil material for containment.
