The present invention relates to compositions for inhibiting the re-growth of hair from a vacant hair follicle comprising at least one organic hair follicle penetrating agent and at least one oxidising agent in which the at least one hair follicle penetrating agent is a C6 to C16 ester or a mixture thereof, methods for preparing such compositions and the use of such compositions to inhibit the re-growth of hair and in the treatment of conditions characterised by excessive undesired hair growth, such as congenital hypertrichosis, acquired hypertrichosis and hirsutism, as well as kits comprising containers containing components of the composition. The invention also provides methods for removing hair and inhibiting its re-growth. |
