The present invention provides an apparatus for rapid solidification of liquid in a magnetic field and an anisotropic rare earth permanent magnet. The apparatus for rapid solidification of liquid in a magnetic field includes a magnetic circuit which provides a magnetic field of at least 1 T to a quenching part and produces a quenching thin strip in the magnetic field. The apparatus for rapid solidification of liquid in a magnetic field produces the quenching thin strip by quenching an exchange-spring magnet having an inner structure in which a hard magnetic phase and a soft magnetic phase are finely dispersed. Easy magnetization axes of the hard magnetic phase inside the quenching thin strip are aligned in one direction.
