The present invention relates to an aluminum nitride sintered body and a manufacturing method thereof, wherein the aluminum nitride sintered body is obtained by sintering a sintered material including : a transition metal oxide; a lithium source which can be converted to lithium oxide by sintering; and an alkaline earth metal oxide or rare earth metal oxide and aluminum nitride (AlN).
