PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a red fluorescent plate which has high emission intensity even when no expensive rare earth element is included therein, and which has excellent mechanical strength, and to provide a light-emitting device using the red fluorescent plate.
SOLUTION : A red fluorescent plate contains Mn as a light emitting source, has hibonite as the main crystal phase, contains grossite and alumina as other crystal phases, and has high emission intensity and excellent mechanical strength. A light-emitting device is provided with the red fluorescent plate on a position separated from a light-emitting element, and emits more uniform light by suppressing unevenness of light.
