This oxygen sensor element is formed of a ceramic sintered body, and detects oxygen concentration on the basis of a current value when a voltage is applied. The ceramic sintered body has a composition LnBa2-xSrxCu3O7-δ, which results from substituting a portion of a composition formula LnBa2Cu3O7-δ(where Ln is a rare-earth element and δ is 0 to 1) with any of the elements selected from group 2 elements of the periodic table, e.g. strontium (Sr). Here, the substitution amount x of Sr satisfies 0 < x ≤ 1.5. Due to this configuration, an oxygen sensor element having improved durability, etc. can be provided, without compromising sensor characteristics. |
