PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric conversion material which shows a high thermoelectric conversion property.
SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing a thermoelectric conversion material including a zinc oxide comprises at least the steps of : preparing an aqueous solution containing zinc ions, rare earth element ions, and aluminum ions; producing an oxide precursor from the aqueous solution; and obtaining an oxide by baking the precursor. The thermoelectric conversion material is expressed by the formula (I), Zn(1-x-y)AlxYyO (I) (where Zn represents zinc, Al represents aluminum, Y represents yttrium, and x and y satisfy the conditions, x>0, y>0 and x+y<0.1), and has a structure in which the aluminum and yttrium are at least partially present in and/or between crystal lattices of the zinc oxide.
