PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a capacitor which can keep a high electrostatic capacitance even with a voltage applied thereto at a high temperature.
SOLUTION : A capacitor comprises a dielectric layer 5 composed of dielectric porcelain including crystal grains 9 having, as a primary component, barium titanate and containing at least one rare earth element (RE) selected from a group consisting of terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium and gadolinium. The crystal grains 9 consist of at least two kinds of crystal grains 9a and 9b, between which there is a difference of 0.1 atom% or larger in the concentration of the at least one rare earth element (RE) at a point located at a depth of 20 nm from a grain boundary.
