In an electronic component (1), a ceramic substrate (2) has a composition which comprises a perovskite-type compound that contains Ba, Ca and Ti and which further contains, as a donor, α (a prescribed rare earth element) and/or β (at least one element selected from among Nb, W, Sb and Ta). When taking the total molar amount of Ti and β as 100 parts by mole, the contents of Ba, Ca, α, β, Ti and Mn in parts by mole, namely, mBa, mCa, mα, mβ, mTi and mMn satisfy the following relationships, and m is a value as specified below, m being a molar ratio represented by the formula m = (mBa + mCa + mα) / (mTi + mβ). · 0 ≤ mCa ≤ 30.00 · 0 ≤ mα + mβ ≤ 1.0000 · 1.0020 ≤ m ≤ 1.0300 · 0.1000 ≤ mMn ≤ 3.5000 |
