PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To produce a new composite phosphor capable of reducing the amount of phosphors, that is, the usage of rare earth elements, and capable of achieving a white light emitting diode using a yellow phosphor.
SOLUTION : An yellow phosphor used as a color conversion material of a white light emitting diode has a structure in which the surface of an inorganic phosphor particle 101 is coated with an organic fluorescent material 102 that contains 3, 5-diacetyl-1, 4-dihydrolutidine, and thereby yellow luminescence from not only the inorganic phosphor but also an organic phosphor can be used, and an excellent phosphor with high luminance and decreased usage of rare earth elements can be achieved.
