PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method capable of producing a polymer to which silica is added without a long-time kneading step.
SOLUTION : A polymerization catalyst composition is produced by mixing and aging, with respect to a first element including a rare earth element-containing compound, a second element including a compound represented by the following formula (X) : YR1aR2bR3c, and a third element including silica, the second element and the third element, and then adding the first element thereto to react therewith (in the formula, Y is a metal selected from groups 1, 2, 12 and 13 of the periodic table; R1 and R2, which are identical or different, are each 1-10C hydrocarbon group or hydrogen atom; R3 is 1-10C hydrocarbon group, provided that R3 may be identical to or different from R1 or R2; and when Y is a metal selected from group 1 of the periodic table, a is 1, and b and c are 0, when Y is a metal selected from group 2 and group 12 of the periodic table, a and b are 1 and c is 0, and when Y is a metal selected from group 13 of the periodic table, a, b and c are 1).
