PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a lubricating oil composition exhibiting an extremely low coefficient of friction when used as a lubrication oil for a low friction sliding material, and to provide a sliding mechanism with an excellent low-friction property by using the lubricating oil composition in combination with a sliding member having a coating of a specific low friction sliding material on its sliding surface.
SOLUTION : A lubricating oil composition used for a low friction sliding material includes, with respect to the total amount of the composition in a lubricating oil base oil, (A) 0.005-0.12 mass% organic zinc dithiophosphate in phosphorus equivalent, (B) 0.05-5.0 mass% amide-based friction reducing agent, and (C) 0.05-0.5 mass% alkaline-earth metalsalicylate-baed cleaning agent and/or alkaline-earth metalsulfonate-based cleaning agent in alkaline-earth metal equivalent. A sliding mechanism includes the lubricating oil composition intervening between sliding surfaces of two sliding members sliding with respect to each other, wherein the sliding surface of at least one of the two sliding members has a DLC coating containing 5-50 atom% hydrogen formed thereon.
