PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent the security function of a portable terminal device from being easily canceled by an erroneous operation of the user, thereby enhancing security measures not just against the regular user but also against an unauthorized third person.
SOLUTION : A switch 11 for security disable setting is provided at a place having had a battery cover of the main body and a battery pack removed (i.e., a place which an unauthorized third person will never notice), so that security function is enabled and cannot be disabled as long as the switch 11 is operated on. For the security function to be canceled by the regular user or an unauthorized third person, therefore, a series of troublesome operations including removing the battery cover of the main body and then the battery pack and manipulating the switch installed there are required. Furthermore, the present invention perceives that it will be an extremely rare occurrence that such a series of troublesome operations are performed accidentally as an operational error.
